Final Fayetteville Extension Classes

By admin | November 19, 2008

On Friday and Saturday of this week, we will hold the final weekend of our Fayetteville, Georgia extension classes. This will be the third of three weekends, the earlier dates having been in September and October. Dr. Fred Malone has been lecturing about preaching Christ in all the Scriptures, to the great appreciation of the men present. He has helped us to understand better the distinction between Law and Gospel, and the necessity of preaching with this distinction in mind. We have learned about the importance of preaching Christ and the Gospel from every portion of Scripture.

I have been delivering the first part of my IRBS course ‘Ministry of the Word in Worship.’ This is usually a first-year course, and the section being taight is about the minister as God’s messenger. This weekend, we will investigate the concepts of herald, ambassador and man of God, and urge the students to have a conscious understanding of their role as minister in the light of these ideas.

Attendance has been around 25-30, and the men have been veru receptive. We are expecially indebted to Pastor Steve Martin and the people of Heritage Church who have worked so hard to make these weekends work so well.

It’s not too late to attend the final weekend. If you are within driving distance, why not sit in on the lectures. Friday 9:00-6:00, Saturday 9:00-3:00 at Heritage Church in Fayetteville, Georgia. If you can’t be with us, please pray for us.
